From the recording Grape Jelly
<p>Eric was the saxman for Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. He and Skip Nallia wrote this tune and named it after one of Gate's favorite foods: grape jelly. Gate liked the groove so much that he added it to his album, "Back to Bogalusa". When they performed at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Carlos Santana jammed with the band and clapped his hands over his head right after Eric's screaming solo.
